Description
Post-independence India has witnessed various forms of economic fraud at various times. In every case of scams, sometimes resort to trickery, sometimes a trap is woven through an alluring scheme. However, the picture emerging in the ‘Electoral Bond’ scheme is different and horrifying. Its scope is vast, from the core of political parties to the core of administration. If there is ever a coercive levy in the name of development through intimidation, a masterful exercise of administrative power, or a compromise with national projects or the lives of common people, then it is a terrible thing!
In democracy, when money becomes the one and only demand of political parties, it is the enemy of the country and ten! The fourth pillar of democracy is the duty of the media to raise questions and seek answers. But, when the mainstream media avoids these issues, it becomes my basic duty to ask questions. Because, – not “yes to yes matching”, but on the contrary sustains the real democracy!
If the masses are brothers in democracy,
But I have every right to question you.
